www.facebook.com/troutsiders This was Jose's first chinook on a fly. "Was not ready for the brute strength of this magnificent creature. Took only about 10 minutes for the fight but what a fight it was. I will never forget this moment, ever. It was an awesome day!" www.facebook.com/troutsiders The Stillwater Nymph is a pattern from lake fishing guru, Denny Rickards. It can be taken as a scud, damsel nymph, callibaetis nymph, leech or even a small minnow. All that matters is that fish takes it with reckless abandon. This fly tying instruction is for olive color, but it can be tied in a variety of colors with successful results. Denny knows his stuff. Fantastic fly for any beginning tyer! Other than the hook & thread, only 2 materials needed to tie this magnificent fly! The body itself goes deep in the water to where the fishes are. Simple to tie, but very effective & deadly. A must have on your fly box!Fly Tying Session: Brassie - YouTube | |

Invented by Vince Wilcox, he wanted a fly that can be fished the entire season no matter where you are fishing. I think he is thinking new materials with marabou and hare dubbing, hence the name "marabare" :) This fly is starting to take over my entire fly box. Try it, you'll be glad you did. www.facebook.com/troutsiders This fly is an excellent variation of a hares ear nymph fly by Guy Jeans from Kern River. The foam keeps the fly just under the surface for trout or any other fish to attack from the bottom. Easy enough to tie and deadly on almost any body of water.
